Among the scattered islands that make up the water world of Windhaven,
no one holds more prestige than the silver-winged Flyers, who bring news, gossip, songs,
and stories. They are romantic figures crossing treacherous oceans, braving shifting
winds and sudden storms that could easily dash them from the sty to instant death.

The islands of Windhaven, a forgotten planetary outpost, are held together by the Flyers
who travel between the various communities. Birth dictates who looks on in envy and who
actually flies. These laws were defied however by Maris of Lesser Amberly, who won those
not born into a Flyer family the right to earn their wings. But, tradition is hard to overcome.
With the privileges of the Flyers have come generations of bias against the land-bound, and
bitterness of the land-bound towards the perceived arrogance of the Flyers. The One Wings,
land-bound who earned their wings through competitions and not birth, struggle to fit
themselves into the Flyer society. Flyers, still arrogant and bias against the land-bound, fight
to keep the wings within those born into a Flyer family. Windhaven finds itself in a culture
battle which can tear the world apart.

Will the Flyers look past their own arrogance and accept these One Wings, or will the
land-bound lose the chance to ever earn their right to fly? Turn you eyes skyward, take
flight, and join the world of Windhaven.
